We recently reported that former Commodore UK boss David Pleasance had launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the creation of an international central hub for Amiga users, to be called the Amiga Global Alliance.
After raising a little over £2,000 of its £15,000 goal, David Pleasace has taken the decision to cancel the project. Pleasance has issued a rather contrite statement on Facebook regarding the project’s cancellation.
It’s fair to say that the Amiga Global Alliance project drew some pretty fierce criticism from Amiga users, who generally didn’t seem to see the benefit of there being a central “official” online Amiga hub when there are already online Amiga communities in existence.
Given the reaction to the Amiga Global Alliance, cancelling the project is probably the right move.
