For those of you who don’t know, AmiGameJam is an annual game development competition for the Commodore Amiga, organised by AmigaCammy. This year’s theme was ‘ports’.
I recently had the pleasure of attending a Twitch stream from Amiga Bill’s channel where the submitted games were reviewed and voted for – by viewers and guest judges: Glen Planamento, Hitch and the legend that is RJ Mical (hardware designer of Amiga, Atari Lynx and 3DO fame).
I don’t usually tune in to Twitch but this was one of the most entertaining shows I have had the pleasure of being part of.
There were some excellent games on show, but the winner of the classic Amiga section was Knightmare (an enhanced port of the 1986 Konami game originally for the MSX). This is an excellent port by Hoffman and there will be a full review in ZZAP!AMIGA issue 4.
Second place went to an arcade perfect port of Ms Pacman by jotd, and third place to an excitingly, almost finished Green Beret port by Dante.
Look out for Issue 4 of ZZAP!AMIGA for a full write up.
