We’ve previously reported on a couple of very impressive Elite-based projects by Mark Moxon, such as his Elite Universe Edtor for Commodore 64, and even a port of Elite to teletext!
Well, it seems that Moxon simply won’t stop exploring David Braben and Ian Bell’s classic space trading game, as he’s back again, this time with fully documented and annotated source code for NES Elite. Moxon has reconstructed the source code by hand, based on a disassembly of the original NES Elite ROM. You can find The annotated and documented NES Elite source code runs to 112,000 lines of 80-column text, and you can find it here.
Who knows where Mark Moxon’s digging into the darkest corners of the Elite universe will take him next?
