We previously reported that the Nintendo Switch Online title Pac-Man 99 would be closing in October.
I don’t know about you, but I spent several hours of yesterday playing Pac-Man 99 on the Nintendo Switch, while I still could (yet I still never came first!)
It fills me with great sadness to inform you that Pac-Man 99 has finally given up the ghost, and the servers have now “Pac-ed in”. Although the service was scheduled to close on 8th October, the servers remained live into the evening of 9th October (UK time) before finally closing for good.
It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but the arrival of F-Zero 99 probably wouldn’t have happened had Pac-Man 99 not been shuttered.
Owners of the paid DLC can still play the game’s offline modes, but there is now no way to purchase the DLC.
Pac-Man 99 has also been delisted from the Nintendo eshop.
Nintendo Switch Online members can still enjoy 99-player battle royale madness in the forms of Tetris and F-Zero.
