Earlier this week, we reported that the mysterious Evercade Alpha was to be revealed at last on Thursday 30th May 2024 at 1700 BST, and indeed it was. Or should we say they were?
With an emphasis on that “-cade” suffix, the Evercade Alpha is a bartop arcade cabinet that runs Evercade cartridges.
There are two modes to choose from, and in addition to running the Evercade cartridge library, each model will also come with six built-in Capcom games.
The Evercade Alpha Mega Man Bartop Arcade includes Mega Man: The Power Battle, Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters, Final Fight, Knights of the Round, Carrier Air Wing, and Strider.
The Evercade Alpha Street Fighter Bartop Arcade includes Street Fighter II Champion Edition, Super Street Fighter™ II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors’ Dreams, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo.
The cabs will measure 410mm x 244mm x 316 mm, The units come pre-assembled and include a USB-C power cable and plug. The screen boasts a high-resolution 8″ IPS display with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
The units also have two USB ports for connecting Evercade-compatible controllers.
Evercade Alpha also has Wi-Fi connectivity for firmware updates and access to Evercade’s digital features, such as the Game of the Month.

Preorders for Evercade Alpha open on 4th June 2024, offering the Evercade Alpha for a special introductory price of £199.99. after the pre-order period, the price rises to the standard price of £229.99.
Evercade Alpha is scheduled to ship in November 2024.
Each model is also available in a Deluxe Edition, available exclusively from Funstock.
The Deluxe Editions feature top-quality Sanwa arcade controls and ship with an exclusive Evercade Alpha-branded USB controller.
The Deluxe Editions also come with additional marquee artwork, a certificate of authenticity, and an exclusive poster. In total, the package features about £100 worth of additional value. The Deluxe Editions will cost £249.99 each.
