You don’t get demos of games as much as you used to these days, so we were pleased to see that Nintendo had released a demo of their forthcoming Mario vs. Donkey Kong remake, on which we’ve previously reported.
Back in the day, there were few things more thrilling to the young gamer than buying a magazine with a demo of a forthcoming full-price game sellotaped to the front, and while downloadable demos may have lost some of that magic, it’s still good to try out forthcoming games prior to their release. In fact, the Mario vs. Donkey Kong demo has certainly served its purpose with me, as it’s upgraded the game’s status from “I’ll probably buy it sometime” to “I must buy this at launch!”
Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a fun puzzle game that was originally released on Game Boy Advance in 2004, some 20 years ago! The new HD remake will be released on Nintendo Switch on 16th February 2024, but you can download the free demo from the eshop now.
