The hotly-anticipated release of the Super Mario RPG remake for Nintendo Switch is little over a week from release, and Nintendo certainly seem to realise what a momentous release it will be. Earlier this week, we reported that the next Tetris 99 Grand Prix will boast a Super Mario RPG theme, and now, Nintendo Life have uncovered a story from Japanese gaming news site Game Watch, reporting that a Super Famicom-style manual for the game will be made available from Japanese retailers.

We suspect that if you’re reading this, then, you, like us, are old enough to remember when all games came complete with physical manuals, and we certainly miss them here at Fusion R Gamer.

The Japanese Super Mario RPG manual looks set to be a very cool collectible, emphasising the game’s 16-bit origins. It’s a shame that it doesn’t seem to be making its way West.

I've been playing video games since the 1980s, from the 8-bit era onwards. I have had to play one-handed following a stroke in 2014, and I blog about playing games with one hand.
