PocketStar, a new micro handheld from Zepsch, has hit its crowdfunding goal and is set to be released around April next year. This tiny handheld, featuring two buttons and d-pad, will raise plenty of eyebrows and certainly asks the question how small is too small?
It’s described by the developers as “a keychain-sized, open source retro gaming console that will let you feel nostalgic everywhere you go with it!” It also has a rechargeable battery, an OLED screen, built in speaker and a vibration function.
There is also room to include multiplayer via Bluetooth and online leaderboards. There certainly seems to be a lot of tech under the hood. All games designed by the company will be provided for free and it appears as though, similar to Playdate, that indie devs will be able to make games for it.
