With all the fever of the World Cup buzzing around the planet, it feels fitting for us to be reporting ona new retro-inspired football game. From developer New Star Games, known for Retro Bowl and New Star Soccer, comes Retro Goal, released on the Switch today.
It combines arcade style football gameplay with some light management elements to create a perfect blend of 90s football action. Retro Goal also includes some modern features such as manual or automatic ground passes and more involved tackling that allows your defender to get closer.
Just picked this up after reading this news item! I’m far from a footy fan, but I did enjoy Sensi and Tecmo’s World Cup 90 (and Football Manager on the Speccy) so this seems about my level.
