Sonic Origins, a collection of Sonic’s four main story games, was released for Sonic’s 31st birthday last June. Sega have now confirmed that 23rd June 2023 will see the release of Sonic Origin Plus, a physical version of the collection for all major platforms. The updated collection now includes Amy as a playable character in the four Mega Drive games as well as the inclusion of all twelve Sonic Game Gear titles.
A new trailer also explains that all the DLC from the collection will be included in this new release. Fans were upset that the original release was a digital only title and lacked of Sonic’s 8-bit adventures, so this goes some way to rectify this disappointment. Those that have already purchased the collection digitally will be able to add Amy and the Game Gear titles for £10 as a new DLC.
