Tape Recovery Simulator 96K is exactly as it sounds and has been announced by retro indie developer CaffeineWithdrawalGames. The whole game is trying to salvage data from old tapes, these old analogue physical tapes degrade over time and you must save them! The game is currently in a closed early access but the trailer gives you everything you need to know.
Some of the gameplay features decrypting the data, making sure to load them correctly and having to get the audio just right at each turn. It doesn’t sound like the most forward-thinking of titles but you can probably relax and rewind when it comes to Steam later this year following the planned demo launch in November.
