Supermassive Games has had a lot of success with its interactive horror genre during the past few years. First with Until Dawn and then with the Dark Pictures Anthology series. Now the studio has revealed The Quarry, a brand new horror game being published by 2K.

Yesterday’s teaser showed the back of a police officer questioning camp counselors, whose car swerved off to the side of the road after witnessing something strange jump out in front of them. It ended when the tone of the police officer shifted very darkly, as he warns them that “you’re not going to make it to Hacketts Quarry… not tonight…”

“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” boasted the tagline.

Today, the big reveal shows a group of nine teenage counselors at a summer camp, fighting to survive a deadly predator that is hunting them. Players can invite up to seven friends to play together, each playing as a different counselor. You must try and keep your characters alive, but if there’s anything we know from Until Dawn, they can nearly all die. Who will you help, and who with you betray when voting on major decisions?

The big news for most however is the incredible cast:

  • David Arquette (Scream)
  • Lance Henriksen (Aliens)
  • Ted Raimi (Evil Dead)
  • Lin Shaye (Insidious)
  • Grace Zabriskie (Twin Peaks)
  • Ethan Suplee (My Name is Earl)
  • Ariel Winter (Modern Family)
  • Justice Smith (Pokémon Detective Pikachu)
  • Brenda Song (Dollface)
  • Halston Sage (The Orville)
  • Siobhan Williams (Forsaken)
  • Skyler Gisondo (Santa Clarita Diet)
  • Evan Evagora (Star Trek: Picard)
  • Miles Robbins (Halloween)
  • Zach Tinker (13 Reasons Why)

The Quarry is due for release in June on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Check out the trailer below.

  1. Note that the PS5 version costs £64.99/$69.99. The PS4 version comes in at £59.99/$59.99, but there’s no free PS4 to PS5 upgrade. You’d need to buy the £74.99/$79.99 Deluxe Edition to get both versions. Ouch!
