AmiGameJam is an annual game development competition for the Amiga, with this year’s theme being ‘ports’. Submissions closed on 1st February for the latest competition, and judging has been ongoing since for the 18 entries. The results are to be announced during a dedicated awards spectacular, to be streamed live on Amiga Bill’s Twitch channel from 7pm UTC on April 3rd.
Entries include a myriad of ports from multiple systems, and whilst many games are incomplete, and others extremely basic, there is also a lot of promise for some future Amiga crackers. My personal favourite is Knightmare – an enhanced port of a fantasy themed shooter, originally developed for the MSX by Konami. There will be a full review of this game in issue 4 of ZZAP!AMIGA.
Tune in on 3rd April to see what the judges think 🙂
