On Twitter/X Atari have announced that they are resurrecting the Inogrames publishing label.
The current-day incarnation of Atari is essentially comprised of several companies that were purchased by French publisher Infogrames, who renamed themselves in 2003, using the most recognisable of their owned brands, Atari. And now, over 20 years later, Atari are relaunching Infogrames as a publishing label subsidiary of Atari.
Atari CEO and Chairman Wade Rosen commented: “For decades, Infogrames built a reputation as a publisher and developer of amazing and eclectic games, and we are excited to bring it back.”
So, what’s the first game that comes to your mind upon hearing the Infogrames name? For us it was Captain Blood, closely followed by North & South. Why not let us know yours in the comments?
And let’s hope that the resurrected Infogrames brand will also see the resurrection of some of their beloved IP for the current gen (and beyond).
