Cowabunga Collection Switch home icon

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Cowabunga Collection received universally good reviews, not least on here, with our cut-down review of my deep-pan dive into the game from Fusion magazine issue 39. And the first major Cowabunga Collection patch is now live. Details follow…

Well, now the game has received its first patch, which is like sprinkling chilli flakes on top of an already delicious pizza. Yes, the first Cowabunga Collection patch is now live.

Updates are…

A new home screen icon for the Switch, displaying the game’s cover art.

Ability to adjust difficulty and set number of players in lobbies for the arcade games online.

Ability to set number of lives per credit from 1-5 in TMNT: Arcade

Ability to adjust difficulty and set number of lives from 1-8 in TMNT: Turtles in Time arcade (North American version)

PlayStation 4 joystick support added for PlayStation 5.
Xbox joystick support added.

Ability to choose from four colour palettes on GameBoy games, with the ability to replicate original GameBoy, GameBoy Pocket.

Group Mode for the Japanese version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters.

Loop mode can be turned on or off on Turtles in Time (North American arcade).

Audio adjustments.

Online multiplayer added to SNES Turtles in Time.

On a related note, I don’t like to plug the competition too much, but the cover to this month’s Retro Gamer is magnificent!

I've been playing video games since the 1980s, from the 8-bit era onwards. I have had to play one-handed following a stroke in 2014, and I blog about playing games with one hand.
