We’ve been following the development of Dracula: Dark Reign closely and are excited that its release is nearly here. The indie Game Boy community has been buzzing since it was first announced and now they get their first taste of gameplay with a demo from developer Spacebot Interactive. The game is being published by Incube8 Games and is an official StokerVerse product.
We tried the demo and can report that Dracula: Dark Reign is shaping up to be an exciting release. The demo starts with a fantastic title screen featuring great animation with impressive music. The game’s story is set around the original Bram Stoker novel and you play as Jonathan Harker, who finds himself trapped in Castle Dracula.
The animations, pixel art and music as well as the controls are all of a high standard and although we only get to play a few minutes of the game, this has indie classic written all over it. There is a real bite to the attack as you swing a rusty sword at zombies and bats, the way the doors open has a chilling feel and it seems there will be some light puzzles to break up the action.
