If you were reading games mags in the 00s, you may remember Future’s unofficial Nintendo magazine, N Gamer (later Nintendo Gamer).
The magazine’s production editor, Chrissy Williams, has been working as a comics editor and poet since N Gamer closed, and this week she makes her comics writing debut with Golden Rage, published by Image Comics, who had huge success with titles including The Walking Dead, Invincible, and Spawn.
Williams describes Golden Rage as “Battle Royale Meets the Golden Girls”, which sounds good to us! The artist on the comic is Lauren Knight, whose previous work includes Buffy comics.
Golden Rage is a five-issue miniseries, with issue 1 on sale from 3rd August.
Golden Rage launches at London’s Gosh Comics on Wednesday from 6pm-7pm, where Williams will be signing copies along with the comic’s colourist, Sofie Dodgson. If you’re in or near London, maybe you’d like to pop along and ask Chrissy about her memories of N Gamer!
