We love 2000 AD here (well I do!) And we previously reported on Rogue Trooper’s soundtrack. Here’s some retrogaming news about another 2000 AD property! It’s a Sam Slade Robo-Hunter game for ZX Spectrum!

Writer and artist Malcolm Kirk has created a Spectrum game based on Robo-Hunter, using 3D Gamemaker.

Although Sam Slade Robo-Hunter In : Escape From The Planet of The Robot Robo-Hunter Hunters is an unofficial fan project, it was released via a semi-official channel – the 2000 AD forum advent calendar.

The game follows in the footsteps of officially-licenced 2000 AD Spectrum games including Judge Dredd, Slaine, and Nemesis the Warlock.

The download is in the style of magazine covertapes, and Kirk has also made inlay art downloadable. And as with all good covertapes, there’s more than one item. Kirk’s download also includes Blockmania (pokes for previous 2000 AD games).

The game and Blockmania can be downloaded from Kirk’s blog.

I've been playing video games since the 1980s, from the 8-bit era onwards. I have had to play one-handed following a stroke in 2014, and I blog about playing games with one hand.
