As you may have gathered, we love new games for retro hardware here at Fusion R Gamer, and VGC have spotted a forthcoming example that looks right up our street. MIX Games, who specialise in “neo-retro games” are publishing a new Rugrats NES game next year, titled Rugrats Adventures in Gameland.
In addition to the NES release, Rugrats Adventures in Gameland will also be available on modern consoles and PC. On these versions, you will be able to switch between NES graphics and an HD mode that’s closer to the original cartoon.
Rugrats was, of course, a Nickelodeon cartoon following the everyday lives of a group of babies, led by Tommy Pickles. The show was an entertaining example of a post-Simpsons children’s cartoon.
This won’t be the first time that the Rugrats have crawled into video games, first appearing on PlayStation in 1998’s Rugrats: Search for Reptar.
