Precision platformers remain popular and RITE from Pond Games is a great addition to the controller-throwing-inducing genre. There is no story beyond being tasked with completing the trials. The levels are all single screen and are broken down into several different zones each with its own theme.
The controls are tight and consist of a simple jump, that can be controlled depending on how hard you press, and a wall slide that is needed for most levels. Once you get to grips with the mechanics you will be flying through the levels. It has a gentle difficulty curve and only becomes seriously hard towards the end.
The graphics are what you would expect from a modern pixel game but the sound is disappointing in places. Overall, if you are a fan of platform games, especially precision ones, then this is a great buy. It has that one more try feel and there is a real challenge to finish the game. You can buy RITE for PC now or the Switch version is out 23rd August.
