Developer ZA/UM has confirmed that a stand-alone Disco Elysium expansion game has been cancelled, and a quarter of their staff are now facing redundancy. The game reportedly had another 12-24 months of work left, but following claims of burnout and conflict, it now looks likely there will never be another Disco Elysium game.
We absolutely loved Disco Elysium, calling it a masterpiece. However, after losing their key creative talent, and the legal fallout that ensued, it seems there will be no happy ending for fans of the game.
