It’s been a while since we heard anything about the sequel to one of the finest games that Telltale produced during its many years of existence, but today we have news – and it’s a little disappointing. Yes, it has been delayed until 2024 at the earliest, citing the need for extra polish, and to avoid any crunch at the studio and burnout of their staff.

Based on the 2002 American comic book Fables, TWAU told the story of a clandestine community made up of fairy tale and folklore characters, hiding in the modern world. Sheriff Bigby Wolf (formerly the Big Bad Wolf) was tasked with solving a series of mysterious murders across 5 wonderful episodes. Picking up six months later during wintertime, the sequel promises a new case that threatens the line between the New York PD and Fabletown.

Originally due for release this year, the delay whilst disappointing, is preferable to releasing something that isn’t ready – and it’s nice to see a publisher not putting crunch demands on their staff.
