over 90 game companies across the globe joined forces for One Special Day that aimed to raise funds for the video game charity SpecialEffect. Across the day, donations from game sales and other fund raising activities meant that a total of over £660,000 was raised to help gamers with disabilities.
The charity is celebrating its fiftenth year and Dr Mick Donegan, SpecialEffect’s CEO and Founder, said “We simply cannot thank our industry friends enough for showing such immense generosity throughout this campaign, especially during the current global economic uncertainties. Their worldwide support will be vital in enabling us to meet the ever-growing number of support requests from disabled gamers, and to help developers all over the world to make their games more accessible to all.”
