As we’ve reported previously, City Connection have been releasing a range of emulated Sega Saturn games for modern formats, and their next such release in their β€œS-Tribute” line has been confirmed as Batsugun, a vertically-scrolling shoot β€˜em up by Toaplan that originally hit arcades and the Sega Saturn in 1993. The game is considered to be a pioneer of the β€œbullet hell” subgenre.

City Connection’s new release of the game is titled β€œBatsugun Saturn Tribute Boosted.” The release will include the original arcade version of the game and the Sega Saturn version, which boasted additional features and improved sound.

Batsugun Saturn Tribute Boosted will be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam on 25th May 2023.

I've been playing video games since the 1980s, from the 8-bit era onwards. I have had to play one-handed following a stroke in 2014, and I blog about playing games with one hand.
