Mark R. Jones, who was (predominantly) a graphic artist at games giant Ocean Software in the late 1980s/early 1990s, has written a book about his experiences in the games industry. It’s called “LOAD DIJ DIJ”, with the unusual name coming from the act and sounds of loading a ZX Spectrum game. Spanning 253 pages, it’s an excellent, and very personal behind the scenes look at one of the biggest early names in the UK games industry, as well as being something of a life retrospective. As such, there’s plenty of nostalgia for anyone who was born in the 1970s. The book is currently only available as a digital download, for the unbeatable cost of nothing.
